Ina Gardner is writer of a number of well-known American cookbooks on cooking. Ina also hosts Barefoot Contessa on Food Network, which began in 2002. Ina Garten started her career in the White House where she wrote the nuclear energy policy as well as budget documents. Her first impression was that her job as stimulating intellectually, however, she eventually lost interest and opened a food specialty store called Barefoot Contessa. The store was a success for 18 years. the business extremely profitable before selling it off and grabbing a pen to write her first book. Many magazines and cookbooks followed. Another hit is the Food Network Television show. Additionally, she sells items that range from food items to storage containers and other equipment. Ina never went to an institution for cooking or did she work in a restaurant. She is entirely self-taught. Her easy-going approach to entertaining and her easy cooking style are well known. She is well-known for her simple recipes such as Skillet of Roasted Lemon Chicken Macaroni and Cheese using Beef Bourguignon as well as Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
